Often companies go overboard and create a huge, unmanageable Quality Manual that is basically a re-writing of the ISO 9001 standard with a change from "you shall" to "we will." While there is some argument that this gives a written example of the company's commitment to meet each requirement in the standard, such a document tends to be long and not easily read and understood by many employees. Creating a short quality manual is going to be best for a small business or maybe just a section of a larger business. Defining the quality is the first step. Compare your quality with your competitors as well as any feedback you have already received from customers and note these things down. and continual improvement of the quality management system, and activities necessary to enhance customer satisfaction, are defined in our operational procedures, work instructions and the following sections of this quality manual: 1. Planning; Section 6.0 2. Management review; Section 9.3 3. Human resources; Section 7.1.2 4. A quality manual, in my opinion, isn't a bad idea. It's a document in which the organization can present itself, its QMS, and even its way of thinking and approach to quality management. A short and lucid quality manual gives the impression of an organization that knows what it's doing—one that really manages its quality management system.
